Eva Longoria may have just split from boyfriend Eduardo Cruz, but that didn’t keep her from enjoying a night with pals who came out to honor the Desperate Housewives starlet as she turned 37.

“She had a little celebratory birthday dinner,” a source tells PEOPLE of Longoria’s intimate, seven-person event Tuesday evening at Cut restaurant in Beverly Hills, that included BFF Mario Lopez and his fiancée Courtney Mazza, along with Kevin Connolly. “She had a great time and was really enjoying herself.”

The next night, she made her way to West Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont, where she hung out on the patio and “looked stunning and picture-perfect” in a white fitted blazer, tall beige strappy heels and black skinny pants, according to an onlooker. “She appeared to be in an upbeat, cheery mood.”

As for the breakup, the Longoria insider says she is “doing okay.”

“[The split] is something that happened, and she’s moving on and focusing on her work right now,” says the source of Longoria, who is launching her latest fragrance Evamour at the end of this month and executive producing NBC’s new fall reality show, All About Love.

In the meantime, another celebratory evening is in the works for the actress, whose actual birthday is Thursday. The source says she’ll have dinner with her hairstylist Ken Paves and pals Victoria Beckham and Kate Beckinsale.

After a year together, the Desperate Housewives actress, 36, and the singer (younger brother to Penelope Cruz), have called it quits, a source close to the couple confirms exclusively to Us Weekly.

The pair split within the last couple days, with Cruz returning to his native Madrid, Spain.

“It was a mutual decision,” the source explains to Us. “They are staying friends.”

And Longoria has just the thing to keep her distracted, the source adds. “She’s focusing on work and the end of Desperate Housewives.” Still, it appears she will be spending her 37th birthday, March 15, single.

After being introduced at a party by his sister Penelope, sexy singer Eduardo first stepped out with Longoria in February of last year on a yacht in Florida. Indeed, he became an enduring rebound romance for Longoria — whose painful late 2010 divorce from Tony Parker dominated headlines.

(Longoria was compelled to split from the San Antonio Spurs player after she discovered hundreds of inappropriate texts between him and another woman, their close pal Erin Barry.)

And Longoria was clearly smitten with her new man when he helped her celebrate her 36th birthday last March. “Everything in my life is great!” she told Us at the time. The couple made frequent PDA-packed appearances at A-list parties in L.A., Miami and elsewhere.

Still, after attending Kim Kardashian’s ill-fated August 2011 wedding, Longoria admitted she wasn’t sold on remarrying. “I don’t know,” she said. “Ask a woman after divorce if she’s gonna get married, you won’t get an honest answer.”

A guy in West Hollywood hit the jackpot this afternoon when he scored Eva Longoria’s phone number … but that’s because she had just rear-ended him with her BMW … TMZ has learned.

According to our sources, Eva was leaving her BFF Ken Paves’ salon when she pulled out into traffic and lightly tapped the car in front of her. We’re told the car Eva hit only suffered minor scratches.

Our source on the scene said the guy didn’t care about the minor damage … he was just stoked to get Eva’s digits.
